Begin with a steep climb from Miriakamba Hut through lush forest to Elephant Ridge, offering panoramic Meru Crater and Ash Cone views. The trail transitions to giant heather and moorland, showcasing Tanzania’s alpine landscapes. Reach Saddle Hut (3,570m) by lunchtime. In the afternoon, opt for a 1-2 hour acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m) for stunning sunset views of Kilimanjaro and the crater. Return to Saddle Hut for dinner and rest.
